Special June 4-7

Welcome winter!

Brrr, the chill has definitely been more noticeable this week…and so our special is on theme; it’s a garlic base, provolone, broccoli, French brie and hot or mild salami. We marinate the broccoli in a delicious mix of garlic, lemon juice and pepper for an added touch of flavour! For the vegetarians amongst us, brie is quite a strong flavour and so this special is just as delicious without the salami, or as always we’re happy to accommodate any special variations you might have!

For the sweeties, our dessert special this week is the ever-popular decadent chocolate cake served with vanilla ice-cream and fresh strawberries. It’s oh so indulgent! And as the cold sets in the quince supply will begin to dry up so there’ll only be a few more opportunities to try our ‘limited edition’ quince and white chocolate dessert pizza…seriously divine!

Special May 28-31

To see out Autumn, our special this week is one that we’ve featured a few times before; it’s a tomato base, provolone, baby spinach, roasted capsicum, roasted eggplant and feta. Those seeking some protein are likely to enjoy this one with salami…bellissimo!

Tiramisu returns to the menu this week – it’s the traditional version made with espresso, amaretto and of course the mandatory dash of love!

This week in the Giro d’italia, Cadel is not wearing the ‘maglia rosa’ but is still in contention especially as the mountain stages will likely separate the boys from the men! Still we cheer for Cadel who sits in second place and is within reach of the ultimate prize…

Special May 21-24

This week’s special is inspired by the Italian flag and palette…our yummy pesto base is combined with free range chicken, cherry tomatoes and feta…delicious! It’s light, yet hearty and bound to delight.

For sweets we have our yummy decadent chocolate cake that’s served with strawberries and vanilla ice cream or if dessert pizza is more your thing then you still have some time to indulge in our quince and white chocolate offer.

This is the calibre of dessert that’ll ensure you can sit up watching Cadel in the ‘maglia rosa’ as competition heads into the mountains… let’s all hope be adds the Giro d’Italia to his bag of wins! Go Cadel!

Special May 14-17

The special this week is a vegetarian delight – garlic base, provolone, mushrooms, fresh rocket and goats cheese..hmmm delicious!

If you’re a protein lover and can’t have a pizza without it (and there’s a few of you out there!) then we’d recommend prosciutto with this one.

Our homemade tiramisu returns to the menu this week, it’s the chocolate-mint variety which leaves a lingering and refreshing after taste, that is arguably one of the best ways to finish dinner.

The quince dessert pizza continues to impress and our local supply remains plentiful so if you haven’t yet had the chance, know that it’s not too late to try this autumnal dessert treat.

Special May 7-10

Our special this week draws on a classic Italian flavour combination; an extra virgin olive oil base, provolone, fresh apple, homemade pork and fennel salsicce (sausage) and rocket to finish…it’s delicious!

The quince dessert pizza that we’re offering for a limited time was incredibly popular last week and so it’s continuing its stay on the menu, whilst we have an abundant supply of local quinces at hand. Get in quick!

Otherwise, we’ve also got our homemade chocolate mud cake which is turning out to be quite a hit – served with vanilla ice cream and fresh strawberries – it’s decadent and the perfect way to finish dinner!

Special April 23-26 (anzac week)

This week’s special is what the Italians would refer to as a ‘bianco’ pizza. That is, it has a white base, rather than a red (rosso) base.

It’s that delicious combination of garlic and ricotta although to balance it we’re adding lovely in-season zucchini and for the protein eaters amongst us, we’re recommending salami, either hot or mild. It really is a delicious combination!

This week’s special dessert is the increasingly popular chocolate mud cake, served with vanilla ice cream and strawberries – another classic combination!

Out of respect for our diggers, both past and present, Bella Fresca Pizzeria will not open this Friday 25 April, Anzac Day. However we’ll still open on our other regular days:

Special April 16-19 (easter week)

To see in Easter 2014 we’re going with a classic Italian ‘puttanesca inspired’ special – tomato base, provolone (cheese), white anchovies, olives, baby capers and basil..delish!

It’s even better with a serving of our delicious homemade ‘traditionale’ tiramisu which Jules has lovingly made!

We’ve been trialling a new nero d’avola wine which we’ve added to the current wine list – nero d’avola is a grape variety famously grown on Sicily and is lovely with pizza and Italian cuisine.

Special April 9-12

Daylight saving has departed for another season and with the BOM predicting rain for the better part of the week there’s a decidedly winter feel about… even though it’s not yet that cold…

So to herald the change in season, we’re going with our homemade meatball pizza this week – it’s a tomato base, provolone, red onion, homemade meatballs and green peas. It’s a classic ‘comfort food’ combination.

For the sweet-tooths there’s a delicious chocolate mud cake on offer – it’s different to the one we featured a couple of weeks ago – more decadent, served with vanilla ice-cream and strawberries and absolutely delicious!

This week’s special is one of our classic flavour combinations – extra virgin olive oil base, provolone, marinated figs, walnuts and prosciutto with fresh rocket…delicious!

Over the next few weeks/months we’ll be alternating our homemade tiramisu with other dessert options and this week we’re trialling a baked cheesecake made with creamy Neufchâtel – it’s delicious and we hope you’ll enjoy it whether you choose to eat in or take away.
